    “The P.I.has transformed from the projection of our vices to the mirror of our virtues” Sue Grafton died after a battle with cancer at the end of last month. I thought it was time to pull this book off my TBR and read it. What I found were a bunch of short stories written by Grafton that showcase Kinsey Millhone, her well known star of the Alphabet series. I was introduced to this character by another friend, and have read almost all of them. I eat pickle and peanut butter sandwiches. At one time, I wanted to live in her “tiny house”. In some ways, I wanted to BE her. Grafton admits that Kinsey is in part her. However, her older character- Kit Taylor- IS a rather angry reactive woman that helped Grafton deal with her own family situations. It’s hard to like Kit, especially if you have/had addicted people in your life. These few stories made me angry, sad and left me resigned. I miss and will always miss the letter Z. This book is recommended at 4 stars

    The author has come a long way considering all her "baggage". Prefer her alphabet mystery series to this psychological rehash though.

    I was very disappointed in this book. I have enjoyed this author in the past but not this time. I would not waste my money buying this book.

    I love Sue Grafton's real life stories that grab the reader and make them part of the characters lives. I will be lost when the stories end. Everything about the adventures, people and day to day people and things in the stories are real and relatable which is what makes you truly experience the characters and story as if you are a character on the story too.
