Un entorno laboral hiperconectado disparó estrés y ansiedad en México; expertos sugieren implementar programas al respecto La hiperconectividad en el trabajo está mermando la salud mental de las personas.Foto: Shutterstock. Por: La digitalización y el teletrabajo han transformado la dinámica laboral en el país, pero también han generado un impacto en el deterioro de la salud mental de los empleados, lo cual obliga a las empresas a replantear sus políticas de bienestar. De acuerdo con datos de la consultora Betterfly, 75% de los empleados en México sufre los efectos de la hiperconectividad, lo que ha significado un crecimiento importante en los niveles de estrés laboral e incluso síntomas de ansiedad o depresión por la falta de límites entre el desarrollo personal y el profesional. En este escenario, especialistas destacaron que los programas de salud mental al interior de las empresas no solo mitigan el desgaste de los empleados, sino que también representan una ventaja competitiva. Según estudios de la Organización Internacional de Trabajo y de la Organización Mundial de la Salud, las firmas que invierten en bienestar emocional pueden elevar hasta 40% su productividad y reducir casi 50% el ausentismo laboral. En contraste, la falta de estrategias se refleja en errores frecuentes, menor concentración, irritabilidad e incluso aislamiento laboral. Cifras de Betterfly arrojan que seis de cada 10 empleados remotos reconocen sentirse solos y desconectados, un síntoma que se refleja en la fragmentación de equipos y la falta de motivación individual. Para los especialistas, la hiperconexión genera prácticas como contestar correos antes de dormir, responder mensajes en la madrugada o estar disponibles todo el tiempo, lo que lejos de impulsar la eficiencia, genera agotamiento progresivo. “¿Cuántas veces hemos confundido que estar permanentemente conectado también se iguala a ser productivo o responsable?… (los trabajadores) sienten que no logran desconectarse mentalmente del trabajo al terminar la jornada”, advirtió Ángela González, gerente en EHS Assist. Claves del bienestar Ante este panorama, los especialistas coincidieron en que la solución no depende solo de la tecnología, sino de la cultura organizacional. El entorno obliga a que la cultura organizacional sea la que empuje la efectividad de los programas del bienestar, por lo que, si la alta dirección no se involucra, las iniciativas al respecto corren el riesgo de fracasar, según los especialistas. “La salud emocional ya no es un beneficio opcional, sino un deber ético y legal para las organizaciones. Las empresas que lo entienden no solo cuidan a sus colaboradores, también fortalecen su sostenibilidad y competitividad”, apuntó Vanegas. En este sentido, la recomendación para las empresas es la implementación de encuestas de salud ocupacional, junto con protocolos de intervención temprana con el fin de detectar casos de ansiedad y estrés antes de que deriven en mayores problemas.
