UKHotViews Nic Scott, former CEO and co-founder of Fairsail, has become Chairman at My Digital Accounts (MDA). The Cheshire-based firm provides SaaS-based contractor payroll and accounting software, and was founded by trained accountant, John Whelan. It also has operations in India. MDA was originally set up in response to the Government’s Making Tax Digital initiative. As we navigate the ongoing pandemic, MDA’s products could be useful tools to help firms adapt to new employment models - and manage the other more general complexities around UK tax regulations. In his role as Chairman, it is expected that Nic Scott will help to support MDA as it scales-up against this backdrop. In February of last year, the firm received £1.25m in funding from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund to scale its marketing activities and raise its profile. Fairsail, which was a specialist provider in the SaaS HR mid-market, was acquired by Sage Group in 2017 for an undisclosed nine figure sum to develop the Sage People cloud offering.
