Courtesy of Alex Burholt, Sandy Honig, Andreas Ortner The Match Factory has launched sales at AFM on Jane Schoenbrun ‘s slasher movie “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma,” which stars “Hacks” actress Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson , at the AFM in Los Angeles. The film, which Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner’s Plan B is producing, is now in post-production and the Match Factory is sharing a first promo with buyers. Mubi is financing the film and will distribute in select territories, including North America, Latin America, U.K., Ireland, Germany, Austria, Benelux, Italy, Spain, Turkey, India, Australia and New Zealand, with the Match Factory handling remaining worldwide sales. Daniel Bekerman’s Scythia Films will provide local production services. Related Stories The film centers on the production of a reboot of the infamous “Camp Miasma” slasher franchise. When the latest movie’s director becomes obsessed with the mysterious, reclusive actress who played the “final girl” in the original film, a whole new kind of slasher emerges from the bottom of the lake. Popular on Variety Schoenbrun’s work as a director includes “I Saw the TV Glow,” “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair,” and the experimental documentary “A Self-Induced Hallucination.” “I Saw the TV Glow” was nominated for six Independent Spirit Awards including best picture, screenplay and director, and it was nominated for three Gotham Awards. They are set to write, direct and executive produce the graphic novel “Black Hole” as a series for Netflix with Plan B and New Regency. Einbinder is best known for her role as Ava in the Emmy Award-winning HBO comedy series “Hacks.” Her performance earned an Emmy Award, Critics’ Choice Award, and three Golden Globe nominations.
