Industry Track은 학술적 기여보다 실제 산업 현장에서의 효과성을 기준으로 평가하는 부문으로 지난해에는 애플, 엔비디아, 구글 등 글로벌 빅테크 기업들의 논문이 다수 게재됐다. 특히 이번 EMNLP 2025 Industry Track에 참여한 기업 중 국내 스타트업 단일 기업 논문으로는 튜링이 유일하게 채택됐다는 점이 의미가 크다. 튜링 AI팀 남진우 팀장을 중심으로 김정훈 연구원, 조근식 연구원이 참여한 이번 논문은 ‘Computational Blueprints: Generating Isomorphic Math Problems with Large Language Models’이다. 대형언어모델(LLM)을 활용해 대량의 수학 유사 문항을 생성하는 새로운 방법론인 ‘CBIT(Computational Blueprint for Isomorphic Twins)’ 프레임워크를 제안했다. 지금까지 LLM으로 생성된 문항들이 교육적 타당성이 보장되지 못해 실제 교육산업에 활용되지 못한 점을 주목해, AI가 생성한 수학 문항의 실제 교육 현장 적용 가능성을 세계 최초로 입증했다. 튜링은 학생들을 대상으로 CBIT 문항 생성 실험을 진행해 높은 생성 정확도와 효율성을 달성했다. 초등학교 4학년부터 고등학교 3학년을 대상으로 진행된 실험은 기존 대비 생성 정확도를 최대 83배까지 향상시키고, 생성 비용은 최대 42.3배 절감할 수 있다는 결과를 보였다. 동시에 누적 18만 건 이상의 상호작용 기록 중 오류 신고율이 전문가가 직접 제작한 문항보다 20% 낮은 것으로 나타나 AI가 생성한 수학 문항의 실질적인 교육 적용이 가능함을 뒷받침했다. 남진우 튜링 AI팀 팀장은 “이번 연구를 통해 튜링은 학생의 학습 효율을 높이기 위해 문제를 추천하던 단계를 넘어, 문제를 스스로 생성하고 검증할 수 있는 AI를 구현했다”며 “앞으로도 튜링은 AI 중심의 개인화된 교육 혁신을 주도하며 현장에 가장 효과적인 방식으로 적용해 STEM 학습에 새로운 물결을 만들어갈 것”이라고 말했다. 튜링은 지난 8월 이번 튜링 AI 모델이 적용된 이공계 특화 AI 에이전트 ‘GPAI’를 출시했다. 인도와 미국 등지에서 이공계 학생들을 중심으로 사용자를 빠르게 확보하고 있다. 향후 튜링은 추론 AI 에이전트 개발사로서 교육을 넘어 AI 기반 공학 시뮬레이션과 모델링 기능을 탑재해 박사와 교수진도 폭넓게 활용할 수 있는 연구 도구로 발전시킬 계획이다. 최민규 튜링 대표는 “이번 EMNLP 논문 채택은 튜링이 추론 AI 에이전트 개발사로서 선도적인 기술력을 가졌다는 것을 증명하는 것이다”며 “튜링은 논리·추론·수학 특화 AI에 지속적으로 집중하며 정확성을 무기로 글로벌 시장을 공략할 것”이라고 말했다. 관련 기사
